Another thread on this topic, of support for the same convicted, firearms law breaker, finally got locked at post #292. I'd have deleted that thread at post #1 and this one too.
It is maybe good news for Sgt Nghtingale that he is going to be home for Christmas. However, it is not good news for British Justice that people who leave illicit, section 5 prohibited firearms carelessly lying around, unsecured, in empty houses can do so without paying the price that our laws dictate. Moreover it really is not good that law is set aside because of media pressure. If we actually changed the law that would be one thing, but that hasn't happened. The law has just been sidelined by media pressure. We ought to see the press in lawyers' wigs and gowns next, as evidently they now "decide".
