Makes me wonder sometimes how us old boys, keepers, stalkers etc: ever managed to shoot anything before pretty camo hit the scene. Tweed or Loden green for me as always.

I just wear drab green or grey apart from a realtree woodland deerhunter jacket I've had for over 10 years - I've found wearing drab colours and staying still a lot more useful than any camo patterns.
I've always covered my hands with gloves and my hair with a hat (I'm blonde) - but more recently a mate who takes me out sometimes has been proving to me the benefits of a face veil/net. Have had deer lliterally just stand there and watch me/my mate shoot them!
Army DPM is probably the most versatile, but DPM + Guns = upset members of the public unfortunately!

I agree with your statement I find green to be the best overall camouflage as it’s really the most versatile color for many terrains. I am guilty of not wearing gloves as often as I should. I find it too hot to bear sometimes.A veil is a great piece of kit.I read a lot on this forum people referring to not offending the public by wearing Shooting clothing. I know Ireland has a history wont go into it now but I really thinkYou good folk in the UK are too concerned about offending. I am not stating that your not proud of what you do but why should you hide it. I hear this a lot. I almost always wear army surplus gear when stalking, I stalk is some fairly public places and often meet people plus I also stalk a lot in Northern Ireland where people might have reasonable cause for concern about DPM clad stalkers lurking behind trees. I've yet to meet an upset member of the public, never mind one who was specifically upset by my clothing. My girlfriend is sometimes upset by my clothing but this is usually because I look like a tramp most of the time and I've never found my army surplus stuff to cause more upset than any of the other stuff I own, though taking her out for dinner in it isn't something I've got around to yet.
I suspect this "upset" is more of a myth than a general reality though I don't doubt that someone intent on interfering in our sport by reporting us to the police might use the fact that we are dressed in cammo to add additional "drama" to their report. However, we are acting within the law no matter what we wear and while they may have nothing else to do with their lives other than be offended and report people to the police for a series of thought crimes I don't imagine it would be long before the police might tire of this. It is also the case that interfering do-gooders are already sticking their noses into too many aspects of our lives and, with this in mind, while it remains legal to do so I'd encourage everyone to wear whatever they want.

The wife bought me the beretta optifade jacket at christmas and its no been of my back since,goretex light weight plenty pockets and its been out in some pretty foul weather in the last month!

That Beretta Optifade looks like a sort of cross between DPM and MTP. Any of the optifades I've seen have been very light in colour, even more so than the MTP, with lots of bits that look almost pure white in them. For that reason I wasn't sold on them as I thought they would stand out but the Beretta looks good, though for some reason Beretta don't seem to do hoods which rules them out for the weather I stalk in.

Mine came with a hood fella and its a darker optifade!
Just plain green for me don't think you can beat it to be honest, it also looks a bit more respectable also when coming across public,farmers,keepers etc but this is only my opinion and no doubt others will disagree, I think as has already been said I think many of these patterns are to catch the eye of the public more than anything else IMO.
