Deerstalking Fair, 23/24 March 2013

Andy is maybe on the move now. Snow gates were shut midafternoon and had been for a while. Its the wind that seemed to be doing all the damage. A9 through the hills is always one to take care with for those going down tomorow morning early. We want everyone one down there in one piece. Those at the fair said most of the exhibitors were there except those coming down the A9. Due to sad family matters I wont be down , but I'm sure Andy will keep everyone going with his dry humour.( Once he gets there) Have a good fair folk.... JOHN

The gates have just opened.

See you all tomorrow

Just left the showground 30mins ago, there is no snow here!

We are getting a lot of calls asking if the fair is still on. Its indoors and it isn't affected by the weather. Theonly trader that has struggled with the weather is Scott Country, which is real shame given the display they had planned, but hopefully they will make it in the morning.

The venue is looking good and I am guessing there is every single aspect of stalking covered, as promised.

So frustrating that its perfectly clear in Kelso and we have 6ft snow drifts here.

It seems indeed Dumfries and Galloway is the only affected region.

Tried twice today to get to warehouse to load up and twice had to be towed home with mates tractor.

Snow plough only tonight 2min ago managed to clear road but its still only 4x4 passable.

Cars abandoned everywhere!

We are so so bitterly disappointed to the point it is upsetting me that we haven't been able to get there to set up.

After all the hard work prep and demo kit set up I just can't believe our luck.

Anyway tommorow is another day!

Good luck to all at the fair guy's. Hope it's as good as it sounds, going to miss it myself due to being stuck offshore. :dummy:

Just back home Paul and everything around here is clear. Even if you manage to get there in the middle of the day (obviously allowing for even being able to start out in the first place) we will clear a path through everyone to get you onto the stand!!!

The weather is so frustrating. Horrendous all day in Dumfries, yet the latest met Office update shows sunny intervals tomorrow and no snow!!! Grrr....

Really hope the weather gives you guys a break, and the weekend goes well.
Can't believe SC's pics scary stuff.
Any way all the best with the show,

Nick

setting of in a min just looked out and **** white out ! deep drifts waiting to see if my mate can get to me if not might have to go up in the landy !

Brock & Norris st up their stand yesterday with more boxes of bullets than I have ever seen in one place! Plus all other manner of reloading kit and powders.

Remember to bring your Firearm Certificates!!!!

there are no weather issues in this area at all, except for a strong wind. Just spoke to someone who came down from Edinburgh and the roads are black all around us. Met office update this morning at 5am looked a lot better than last night. Sunday even better
