The with of rifling from a historic stand piont.

Getting some interesting things coming out of my resurch into historic fire arm development.

On thing that seams to not be evident is the with of rifling used in curent production. Not the depth which is kind of obvious as being .308 in a 30 caliber(illustration only, i know there are verience on a theme)

I am interested in the with of the grove! Used

Any one know? or is this a closely garded secret in the gun making world?

There is no standard. Some barrels have varying numbers of lands and grooves that are of equal width, some not.~Muir
