Started polishing the flats on this one last night. Gave it a going over on some Japanese water stones my old mate Glyn sent me. Basically i was using them like the Japanese sword polishers used/use them.
This was after half an hour or so:
You can see how it was in the matt grey steel on the left. A few more scratches to get out, then a rub down at 6000 grit and a final polish on a stitched and a loose mop.
Hoping to do some work on it this weekend, shaping the bolster, and possibly even getting it riveted on. I'll use JB weld as well for that.
