At what distance ?
very ture indeed ,i have loved shooting my 243 for the last 3 months ,just got back on my 308 and after trying diffrent loads i could really notice it in my shoulder huge kick compared to the sweat shooting pussycat of a 243 .so good point and has got to be one of the most inportant things to consider when bying a rifle ,will you be able to actually shot it with any consistencySorry, couldn’t be ar-ed to trawl trough all 46 pages so did anyone suggest Mr. Dagben77 give serious consideration to how comfortable or otherwise he is shooting the larger calibres compared to a 243??
The difference between this perfectly adequate round and a 270 is most noticeable in terms if recoil and anyone who suggests otherwise is doing a Greenhorn no favour. Even a novice who has been taught to hold a rifle correctly may remain “sensitive” at a certain level of recoil and will in consequence never shoot such a rife as well as one that is brought to the cheek with all the confidence and welcome of a buxom Serving Wench.

Yes well done crosshair243 ,i cant even remember how manny post i have put on this thread ,one was about a guy who had some big cannon that he was so scared off he couldn't shoot it at well and they refused to let him out on the deer with it ,And a point I believe I made some 35 pages ago![]()
they do like there 270's dont they i thought it was a real hard kick round when i had ago with one didnt like it much at all dont no why but the 308 seems more reserve than the 270 imhoNo no no it's not big enough, this calibre is only for the very experienced stalker with dsc1-5, and if you are from Scotland or sell stalking days, mere mortals should stick to 308, and never be allowed near the holy grail of 270 let alone a 6.5x55. just the opinion mind you of a armchair warrior who would not know one end of a deer from another.
it is compared to a 243 is it not ? i think soI love hearing about how fierce the 270 recoil is...![]()
