Had blazers a few years now Got a r8 thumb hole at the moment excellent rifle know what you are doing if you take it down, only takes a minute to strip or rebuild don't take mine down a lot but never had a problem with zero when built up again allways spot on

Can you put hand on heart switch barrels/adjust scope and do what you have to do with them, step out the door and with 100% confidence shoot a deer at 200m.

Thank you very much to those who have given me their experiences, those that have them seem pleased. Guess the thing is to try one and see how I get on going to Africa next year with a mate that lives here on plains game and shooting Coyote's of a night. I think a 30-06 and a 25-06 barrel could be a good set up to take.

+1 take down my Blaser K95 for travelling and "zero" problems when it goes back together Stan

+ another 1 .... strip K95, pack into case, arrive destination, unpack & reassemble, check zero (unchanged), shoot deer. Magic every time!

I use my K95 in .243 for stalking here in the UK. Mauser M03 in 6.5 x 55/9.3 x 62 for abroad.

The K95 is a delight to carry all day, lovely trigger and just mounts perfectly. A true hunting rifle as opposed to target. Should have got one sooner.

If it's the straight pull you don't like look at the M03 for traditional bolt.

Awesome rifles.
It's a big advantage to use the same rifle for everything from rabbits to buffalo.
You get real familiar with it.

Just to add my two pennies worth - I've owned several Sako's in the past and loved them all including a semi custom 75 in 7mm 08. I now own a R93 in .308 and it shoots bullet on bullet with factory ammo. The semi custom couldn't do any better with custom loads....

At the end of the day though, the rifle fits me and is accurate. I can take the barrel and scope off, put it back together and it's still hitting POA.

I know nowt about blasers but local guy got the R8 proffesional success I think it's called .... Thumbhole stock ...
I was impressed .... Light fleet , summit to carry all day
... He loves it ....
I could see myself seriously at a later date maybe selling up & Going for that with couple o barrels ... .22-250 & a .30-06 maybe.

As a leftie can the bolt be configured left or right by the user or do you have to buy specific ?

You have to buy a L/H bolt.

I have my Blaser since 2008. I have bought 10 barrels from .222Rem to 375H&H. I have bought several different stocks. Each has its own scope. I very rarely if ever shoot any of my other rifles save for the Mauser k98. The gun can be assembled and disassembled in no time. The rifle returns to POI and if it doesn't then it is my fault. Only the 243 and 222 barrels are bullet fussy. When travelling abroad, I stick it or them in a Pelicase and I have no worry about the rifle being banged or abused. The bolt is child plays to operate and very quick. Closing the bolt with sufficient quietness does not take long to master. I cannot see myself switching ever, even to the R8 as I really do enjoy my R93.

In a nutshell.

Very quick to change barrels and assemble/disassemble.
Fantastically accurate.
Take down allows for ease of transport
Expensive, so not for everybody.
