Evening chaps following on from my original post I can report a completely successful outcome, a result in fact.
After receiving sound, logical advice from you guys and very supportive emails from Matt at BASC
I tackled my FEO head on over AOLQ,
At first he was having none of it and actually got up to leave at one stage, he then realised I would not be budging and that I was quite prepared to take the matter "upstairs" to his boss, after another half hour of small talk he came round and was then quite reasonable, in fact pointing out a mistake I had made in asking that Boar be added to my primary species, which was Deer, THEN asking for AOLQ,
apparently I need not have asked for Boar at all as this would have been included, and it was this request that had triggered the demand to know just where I would be shooting said Boar, it was this that had initially got my back up.
Anyway my ticket came back today, with everything now in order plus an additional rifle so I'm a happy bunny.
I have to say that apart from the initial reluctance to play ball and comply with the official guidelines my FEO was very courteous and my ticket came back in good time but he was so obviously acting under instructions, the solution is to be polite but firm, do not waver and do not take no for an answer.

Absolutely and well done. Although I think these hardline tactics played by feo's are completely out of order.

I'm sorry, but any normal human being would have just dealt with this, instead of making an issue of it and attempting to force you into withdrawing your application. Is the guy on some kind of power trip? I totally agree with Tackleberry270 that he was completely out of order, and if he had been dealing with someone less prepared, would have likely steamrollered them into withdrawing their request. Public servant? Hardly!
