sako A7 AI mag conversion ?

anything is possible if you have enough money
roedale do a tikka / AI -alike stock so perhaps that might be a good place to start?
if the magwell positioning and stock bolt line up doesnt...... then its going to get expensive

There might be an American outfit that makes a bottom metal for an A7, I don't know of any here.
Better off getting a T3, or a Remington if LA or even better the new Bergara rifle. you'll get plenty bottom metal conversions for those.
Of course you could get someone to measure, draw up and make one from scratch for the A7. Not impossible I made one for an old Sako and a Mauser to take AICS mags.

Roedale......lmao. Don't bother. Pete has had a rifle part of mine since 2005 or so, didn't have to do anything to it, he just had it to use as a pattern. Been trying to get it back atleast since 2006.

Had a chat with him a few days ago... if I would have known....

After 10 years it's doubtful if he has even got the part any more, he may have sold it on. I would send him an email telling him that since he has had the part for 10 years and you have lost all hope of getting it back then you want money for a replacement, tell him you are about to put a thread on this forum all about it too!... That might kick his backside into doing something about it.... Not many people like bad publicity.... Unless of course they don't give a damn,in which case they are not worth dealing with.

Veeery old thread, but I'm gonna revive it.

Atlasworxs makes an AICS bottom metal for A7, I just got one.

To make it fit you have to modify the stock (widen the magazine slot), remove front magazine support and back magazine latch and cut down the back magazine support by 5mm or 1/4inch.

Unless you have good tooling, I'd recommend using a gunsmith for this. Widening is doable with vertical mill, and the magazine support is aluminum so easy to file down.

As the Atlasworxs page states NOT all magazines will fit. This is because A7 receiver is very narrow. I'm in the process of finding a magazine with narrow enough lips. Will keep you posted.

Turned out I was not able to make this thing work out. Lots of missfeeding. Had to return the bottom metal 😐

I want a system that works as is. The magazines I tried simply did not seat high enough for the bolt to correctly catch them, can't do a vid as the item is already returned.
