M595 milled action

I haven’t done it, the main issue is you would need to modify a bottom metal for the 595 action that accepts the aics mag

Opening the base of the action is relatively simple but why not use standard 595 mag that work perfectly well to begin with

I use a Waters Rifleman 8 shot mag in my Tikka 590 6.5x47 and it works really well. I looked into having my rifle altered years ago as I wanted a higher capacity than the standard 5 shot mag but in the end the WR mag is a good, if not cheap, compromise. WR were very helpful as well, as the mag had to be slightly fettled for it to fit my rifle. Basically I had to carefully file a little metal off one side of the aperture on the mag where the mag catch engages. Not technically difficult but a bit annoying having just paid £130 for the mag which I thought would drop straight in. All good now and it’s my go to mag.

Mine was done as I was having an AICS stock modified to take the rifle so no issues with bottom metal. Back in the day there was a replacement bottom metal made for the M59# series of rifles that took the AICS magazines but these are rarer than hens teeth now. From memory they also required the stock to be opened up in the mag well area too as obviously the whole system is wider than the original set up.

I agree and have mags, but always found the bottom plastic of the M595 to let down an otherwise lovely rifle and action
