22 lr subsonic recommendations

Hi, I'm looking for suggestions for decent subsonic 22 lr ammo for a cz 457 please.
Any suggestions appreciated
Cheers

Treat yourself to a box of four or five different brands, and do the fairest comparison you can. I would keep the range a realistic 50m.
I tried CCI and Winchester 42g as that was all I could get at the time. Winnies grouped best but had quite a few 'crackers' that were over subsonic speed and landed high, ruining the groups. I settled on the CCI which have been great, really consistent.
CCI segmented shot great too but are double the price. I still want to try Eley.
CZ 457 16" synthetic stock.

Great cheers pal, that's the same rifle as mine,
I always used to use Winchester subs, but I had the same issues with inconsistent rounds/flyers, and just the general quality seemed to decline,
I'll grab a few boxes of different stuff and get on the range! 👍🏻

Start with RWS and work backwards.

If you wish to really go in for disappointment, purchase a box of Lapua Midas (target ammo) and experience what your rifle is really capable of.

Yeah I used to do bench rest so I had some r50 in the safe and tried that when I initially tested ammo when I first bought the rifle, strangely so standard actually shoots better from mine than r50 did, also I find tac-22 to be good but I'm wanting something as quiet as possible really, my main permission is noise sensitive.
I've not tried the Midas or centre-x but I'd be interested to see what they'd do. 👍🏻

hi matey i think rws subs are called norma subsonics now, same company, i can honestly say ive never had a rws or norma go sonic on me, or misfires, they are ultra quite and deadly on bunnies hope you find some good ammo gl bs.

They're certainly made the same, and my norma have the R stamped on them

Highly unlikely to have any .22 go sonic, most perform in the transonic zone.

When a projectile is in transonic mode, the mach number of the projectile will be within 0.8-1.2 of the speed of sound, so if you have the speed of sound at 1125, then transonic should be from 900ft/s - 1350ft/s. Anything above that will be supersonic and below would be subsonic. It is all dependent of the speed of sound at a particular location. I.E. weather conditions, altitude, etc.

Tiny, tiny grouping all but assured on paper.

Midas + my go to benchrest round, only very slightly better than Centre-X. Pity they cost so much.

I've been using Eley subs, with complete satisfaction since 1984, my Brno seems to like them and they're very quiet. Harvested lots of 🐇🐇 with head shots for the pot. The 🐇 is much under rated, excellent nutrition and to my palate very tasty. I've persuaded a number of my neighbours to try them with success.

Interesting.
I found Eley subs to be awful through my BRNO #2
