Taking a rifle to Hungary

I'm due to fly with Easyjet from Gatwick to Budapest in April. The outfitter is arranging my Hungarian hunting licence but do I need any other documentation to take my own rifle with me? TIA.

Not been to Hungary (know guys who have competed out there) but travelled extensively to Czech and Slovakia participating in comps

Only ever took passport, fac and euro firearm pass which I don’t think exists now

Hi, I've been to Hungary on hunting trips quite a few times since Brexit and none of my English friends brought firearms as they no longer have a Euro pass.
In Northern Ireland we still have the Euro Pass so can still travel easily with firearms.
Not sure if it's impossible to bring them from England or just too much hassle.
Hope this is of some help.

Thank you, I've contacted BASC and also the Home Office. I'll post when I find out more. Frustratingly, some of the information on the Gov.uk website is from way before Brexit.

Hungary with EasyJet is probably the easiest of all. You need FAC and fill in EJs paperwork at airport, get there early. At Budapest you may have to show copy of invite with FAC and fill in more paperwork. Returning gets tight as EJ only open gate 2 hours before flight and you have to go thru police process to exit so be first in EJ check in queue!

This was my experience last November. Very good experience. The police in Hungary dont faf about 5 minutes and away. We did have to purchase a hunting or rifle permit on entry showing the letter of invite, I think it cost about £10.
