I’d recommend Kelly’s in Mayo, McBrides in Athlone or HomeFieldandStream in Enniskillen. Sorry none too near Portlaoise though. Peter Kelly in Lahardaun Co. Mayo is very good to deal with, but a fair journey from the midlands.

Griffin Hawe hardware in Athy sell ammo at least. Not sure on their stock of guns.
Cilldara Hunting is a great shop.
Get onto the Laois Deer stalking facebook page, I'd say they know where the gunshops are around the area

Not sure yet but will probably want a rimfire and deer calibre, probably 308 and a shotgun. He doesn't have anything yet.

I’m going the other way. I’ve had my SxS for a long time now, want to go back to o/u. Looking for something light, normally sporters are that bit heavier, cheers

Dave mulvihill in ballymahon has a treasure trove of a selection of guns and paddy in woodland Optiks has a great selection of stalking gear and can get stuff in very quick.
