Hilux Insurance

I ended up with Hastings but you will get a lot of different replies as every quote is different, Where parked, Your age, Yearly mileage, No Claims discount, Company or Leisure car, Excess, Car spec, Lots of variables

Hastings wouldn’t quote me, I’m 60, 10 years plus NCD, no accidents or convictions, social use only, 10000 miles a year

I've a clean licence 50+years & 40+ years no claims discount.
Be careful when getting on-line quotes, they give a "first time price valid till 12 midnight that day " if you want to shop around & don't go with it " there & then" each time you go back online the price increases £10 £15 or £20.
Eventually l went with Hastings [ cost about £100 more than first quote] l paid policy paper work arrived by post, l though all sorted !
Next thing e-mail:- You must have Thatcham security cat 5 fitted plus an approved steering lock or policy is void,, NO mention of when taking my money!
l cancelled policy with Hastings & went back to Saga much fairer company to deal with & can speak with a living person on phone.

Toyota insurance wouldn’t cover me as I was too old (68) even though I had never had an accident in 45yrs.
I’m 70, I’ve had Hilux’s for the past 13 years and never had an issue with my age. Last year I was with Yoga, the year before that Churchill and this year Ageas Van Insurance, every year I use Go Compare Van insurance to make sure I get the best price. I’ve just had the same issue with my Jag, Ageas last year this year they quoted 53% more, so I go on Go Compare and with Hastings I’m paying less than last year and lower excess.

Same here always had pick ups and every year I go on go compare van insurance.

I compared every year and move if I find a better deal
Toyota was mega expensive
Many won’t quite as it’s a commercial vehicle but the broker I’ve mentioned above certainly done the trick for me the last two years

I think it's based on address, they prefer rural
We are pretty rural in Perthshire and they also do the work insurance so I thought they might have been more sensible with it but alas. I’m with Dallas personally now for a small fleet and they are great

yeah ultimately they're crapshoot. just playing with variables on confused/comparethemarket silly things can save a bunch, such things as being stored on driveway cheaper than in garage. The problem now is if you play with the variables too much they either start raising the price or send you a letter saying why did you change career 12 times in 4 hours 😄

NFU cheapest for me and I checked a lot of places
Not quite the cheapest quote I got last year but not far off when you consider they offer 0% ARP for monthly payments. And its a brand I trust.
68 years old, full protected NCD, myself, wife, Son and a pal as drivers, 2018 Mitsibusi L200, £555.

The weird thing was I when I went to add my pal last October (he was looking after my dog while I was on holiday). They wanted £46 to add him for a fortnight but no extra charge to put him on permanently!
