Further to the thread here (which sadly has morphed into yet another rambling general discussion) I have been notifying Glos Police of my intention to Night Shoot in their Force Area under CL55 by using this Contact Form. You automatically receive an email after submission with a unique contact reference number but that's all I have seen or heard to date. This morning, having previously notified them of my intention to night shoot 2 areas tonight using this form, I received a call checking on the details as I had stupidly 
failed to change all details in my cutting and pasting of the text from a template that I hold on my PC.
Seizing this opportunity, I politely questioned the caller as to whether this was the best means to advise them under this CL55 requirement, whether it was actually needed and what they do with them. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that yes, they wanted these notifications, that this was their preferred means of notification and once received, an Incident Number is generated on their system and if challenged, the unique contact form reference number from the email should be provided as it directly links to the Incident Number. This is the standard template I have been using (others of course are available):
