25 Creedmoor in the field

From my research looks like our cousins across the Atlantic are getting decent barrel life 1500-1800 rounds by using slower burning powders and working load back

Ofcourse at some point this defeats the purpose of having a 22 creed but the main factor is the heavy projectiles reduce barrel wear so providing you go 1:7 twist for 80grain instead of 1:8 with 55grains barrel should survive just as long as most modern high BC
cartridges

A 1 in 7 twist isn't needed , Hornady state 7 twist but don't state at what velocity . Mines a 7.5 twist , the bullets rpm is scary around 320,000 .

"Quarter bore" shooters have been overlooked for quite some time for something new, they deserve something new to play with! On our side of the "pond" the "Quarter bore" means 25 cal shooters, based on our currency, the 25 cent piece, a quarter of the dollar. I myself seriously looking at the 25 Creed for a new deer rifle.

Hi.
Had the .25 Weatherby RPM been available when i had my 25-06 built i may well have opted for it instead. I do have a long action however.

I concur with barrel life Greenmist if your a bench rest hole puncher............but for many hunters 900 rounds is more than a lifetime of shooting.
