I have a BSA supersport break barrel air rifle.
I’ve had it since I was about 11 (27 years)
Used to use it regularly when I was a teenager for targets/rabbits/birds. Hasn’t been used in about 10-15 years, got it out last year because we moved house with a big garden backing onto fields and have occasionally been shooting targets.
It’s always been fairly accurate with the scope, shooting with a rest at about 30ft
But last week it just seems to be spreading pellets every where.
I’ll have a few grouped pellets, then all of a sudden it’ll go all over the target. The inconsistency is confusing.
- I’ve checked the scope mounts,
- I’m using the same pellets I’ve used for a while, also tried my old eley wasps with the same outcome. Some groupings off target, then spread, then groups…
- I’ve tried with/without the moderator
- Cleaned the barrel with a cleaning kit - wire brush and material brush.
- shooting in the shed with no wind
Anyone have experience of this please that can give me a suggestion on what might be a problem.
Many thanks
