Argocat for the working man?

Thinking about an argocat for some hill ground.

Got my ticket and a bit of use on modern argos, but need some pointers about buying used.

Where's the sweet spot for price/ reliability/availability of parts?

I assume a 25 year old vehicle on ebay or gumtree will be a money pit, can't consider a new or nearly new model, what budget do I need for something that won't be a basket case?

Have you considered a quad with tracks on it mate?
Noisy on roads, admittedly that may be irrelevant for the op, I do wonder if an engine, gear box and transfer box designed for wheels are under extra strain and load with the conversion, that aside, then do go anywhere (especially good in drifted snow) but you lose some mobility

I wouldn't be using it on roads that's for sure.
Drive to where the road ends and get it off the trailer

Quad with tracks will cost a fortune to buy and be very heavy on maintenance. I would try a smallish quad first, maybe a 350, and see how you get on with that for a season. Being lighter in weight really does make a difference.
