I think this fuel situation isn't gonna get any better for a bit, ive already heard its not easy come by in Dumfries, my nearest big place.
All you folks who travel to stalk, are you thinking twice?
It'd be interesting to be able to measure the effect on deer being killed if folks are starting to contemplate essential journeys.
Just a thought for discussion since the management of deer is quite fuel dependant.

Serious thought about the bicycle if push comes to shove and i want to get out with the rifle.
Not sure how the rear carrier rack will manage with up to 20Kg of Roe Buck!

The beauty of naturally aspirated diesels will come to the fore for many i should think. Alternative fuels are possible which you just can't do with modern common rail diesels

Have you seen the price of hay recently?? That's if you can get any.
Straw is the same, I know two people who are not filling units with pigs because they can't get any straw.

I’m fortunate that most of my ground is within 10 minutes drive or half an hours walk so a non issue as far as stalking goes, not too many fallow so nothing big to carry back.

Work wise, I run a medium sized groundworks company, I am genuinely worried the plant will grind to a halt and if it doesn’t the price is eye watering, with 6 new contracts picked up this year I can’t go back for increases for 12 months!

I went to my local Saturday evening for some bread, every pump closed and cordoned off.
Sunday passed by and topped up for this coming week.
£1.94 ffs and the government is making even more money through the extra tax revenue, if they had any heart they would help out in some way.

a friend sent me this a week back, it is fuel price in Turkey, so about £1 a ltr for petrol and £1.30 for diesel
