Just replaced my fridge thermometer with one of these. Great for £8, it logs the data which will update via Bluetooth on the app. Very easy to set up. It doesn't have a display, data must be viewed via the app.

The issue with connection I think is more to do with the batteries than the unit. I have Govees and have had the same problems. I've put lithium batteries in the freezer ones, as standard alkaline batteries are on their limit at -18, lithium are good to -40.

I don't know about this one but I have found that the batteries don't tend to last long when they are in the chiller. Very pleased with the app, it automatically adjusts the scle to the range that the chiller is running at, showing the min/max for that period.

I will give it a go, as the unit was was using was carp and never worked, so timely post for me. 
Anybody know if the unit can be changed to degrees C instead of F?
Yeah, just go into the settings in the app and Temperature Units is the first option
