Would you buy a second rifle of the same make and model as you already own, just a different calibre?

Yes, if I can get another Savage 14 Euro Classic in something like 7mm-08 Rem. I enjoyed flat shooting of my 243win and awesome accuracy.

No. I like the visual clue that the rifle you have in your hand, and the bolt and ammunition in your pocket might not be compatible.
I use the same mags for my 308 and 243 and have enough of a job to make sure they contain the right ammo for the rifle I’m taking.
If both rifles were the same make and model them I would be royally screwed!!

I have a pair of Tikka 590/595 rifles in 222 and 6.5x47. Ok, so not quite identical due to ejection ports shape and size but essentially the same otherwise.

I’m happy with the combination, have had the triggers fettled to break at the same weight, and they handle the same.

Yes the bolts are interchangeable and the mags are too, but you just need to check carefully BEFORE you drive to the range (ask me how I know…..).

I have a Sauer 100 XTA Stainless (22") in .308 and love it, its a keeper! I use it for stalking with an Alpex sight. However, i do fancy a 6.5 Creedmoor, also for stalking and will either share the day/night sight or buy another later, however, I do fancy getting a nice glass scope and also use this gun for some distance range shooting. As the XTA has a 22" barrel, i thought that would be better for the 65 calibre and so why not just buy another rifle of the same? but its nice to have something different too.....so undecided?
Yes.

I have 3 tikka T3s. 6.5PRC, 6.5 Creedmoor, .22 ARC.

I have heard people say it would lead to confusion. I am very easily confused, and have yet to take the wrong bolt or ammo.

I certainly would and have.

I have many Ruger rifles, multiple Blaser R8s, many CZ and on and on........

That includes 5 Ruger M77 MKII stainless rifles with the zytel paddle stocks from pre 2000, my favorite rifle group.

Lol At this moment i have a vision of police officer Tackleberry from Police academy in my mind 😂 👍

Certainly, one day set up, one night set up. Weight and handling will be identical so would make proficiency and safer handling.

I have owned FOUR Parker Hale M81 Classic in 6mm Remington (1), .270 WCF (2) and .30/06 (1). I now have only the .30/06 but I would not hesitate to buy another M81 Classic if looking for a further rifle and one were available still with its iron sights chambered in the calibre wanted.

I'd purchase a Remington 600 Mohawk (european stocked stutzen version) in a blink of an eye if chambered in 35 Remington Magnum. It would without doubt be a lively proposition compared to the one I already own in 222, but oh how I'd enjoy the challenge of taming it!

I don't think I'd buy two identical rifles.
I have a mate that did but the only reason was that he didn't want to tell his missus that he bought another rifle.
He said as he would only have one out of the cabinet at a time she would never notice.
Its worked so far.

Two identical Sako 75 Deluxes in different calibres - same action length. Takes any thought out of switching between them. Have another slot to fill and quite fancy something totally different like a Helix Speedster just to prove that I can evolve but keep coming back to the benefits of familiarity.

Z.

I have 3 tikkas but they are different models. I do have to be careful with the bolts as they all fit each rifle.
