Wiltshire Shooting Centre New Management

I was told it was a group of five shots that took out a video camera and the wiring so not just a random shot. How that is possible without knowing I can't imagine.
There seems to be quite a few... I'll call them dipshits, with some offence intended... who can't/won't bore sight, will go straight out to 100m, and even after that will refuse to acknowledge or even notice that they are off paper and continue to send rounds out. So I totally agree with you, I just don't know how it's possible.

Someone put 5 shots into a target carrier over at Langport 6 months back.

How you can do that in the first place is of course pretty poor form, beyond being unlucky or being a little bit slack... to continue after your first shot is so far off it dings an overhead carrier, and either not notice or not care, is completely unacceptable in my opinion.

Apologies for the thread hijack, but it does wind me up (clearly) 😂

To tack on, I appreciate 40 or 50 quid an hour seems a bit rich. Especially so if it's just a man and his lad in one lane where only one can shoot at a time.

To give them the benefit of the doubt somewhat, with the amount of customers and the overheads to run the place especially insurance wise and police/home office paperwork and admin, the cost probably isn't taking the mick I reality, I may well be wrong but I highly doubt they're getting rich off it and there is a lot of extra work behind the scenes, especially for ranges/clubs like Rifleman (who's range time is actually very reasonable, far less than the above if you are a member).

I still baulk on the few instances I go into a local shop and an undersized Snickers is £1 or a garden centre with the Mrs and a coffee is £2.50, that's a far bigger injustice in my eyes 😂

*Edit. Apologies for the twin replies and the wall of text, not what most need when checking in on a Sunday morning I'm sure 👍

Apart from the Range, the shop is so well stocked and worth a visit just for that as I am sure any visitor will find/see something they forgot they needed !
Has anybody got one of the attached still ? I've been sorting out and came across this so thought maybe someone else still had theirs. Col Styles was quite a regular user of the range at the same time.

It seems around the money others are charging and I'm sure they aren't getting rich off of it, just offering a very useful place to zero / load test / practice out of the elements where 2 people can shoot side by side.

I've just had a communication via the club, there is now a membership scheme, £150 for the year, which then reduces the range fee to £10/hr. Won't be for everyone but if you plan on using it regularly then 6 trips or more in the 12 months and you're saving money.

Its £40 an hour for the full bore range. I just called and spoke to Jo who deals with bookings. There is a massive wood butt stop that you can put any target on, I like to use my own but they will provide card targets.

The metal deer rig is a separate thing. You would have to ask about it, I didnt use it. They have 50m and 25m ranges to but I only use the full bore 100.

You are basically firing down a train tunnel, setup as a ballistic test facility. They provide Benchs to shoot from, various rests, bags and a spotting scope.
Brilliant facility, used it a number of times. Just so easy to set up a new sight and confirm ammo. Cheers Neil
