1 MOA at 1,000 yards

I’ve been trying to group this at 100yds🫣
Hitting a 4” gong at 50yds is for me repeatable to the point where I’m happy with its intended use which is woodland fallow but at 100yds a bit less so.
Results are improving with practice but I’m not 100% as to what I’m not doing right.
If I clamp the gun on a bench it groups nicely 1-1/4” at 100yds with either 150 or 180g sp’s so I know it’s me not the gun.

All most impressive stuff.
We don't have much call for it round my way though we do stretch it out a bit sometimes.
We might even push it to 100ish yrds for a particularly tricky fox.

Nah - just get a scout-mounted scope! Simples.

Also put a scout mount (pistol long-eye relief 4x) on the near 70 years old Yugo M48 Mauser. At the range yesterday we were hitting a 9 inch plate regularly at 240 yds, of course that was with my home loads.
I just love old rifles….

Let them come to Barry Buddon Ranges on the east coast of Scotland on a winter's day (or even a chilly summer day!) and see how many hit a 10-inch gong with any cartridge over any number of shots.
Never happen, they would never get a booking

Interesting series:

Wind was definitely the biggest factor, food for thought that 1 MOA at 1k yards is a 10 inch circle.

I can only offer from my 1980 Guinness book of records that at the time shows a 300 win mag necked to 7mm putting six(?) Shots into a 4 inch circle @ 1000 yards
