Hi
Anyone used 110gr Vmaxs in a 30.06 ? If so what kind of results did you get re accuracy ? Im sure I can imagine the damage to fox and crows will most certainly be devastating. Best powder ?

I used them in a 308 , factory 110 tap from Hornady , as luck would have it they shot exactly an inch high at 100m from my normal stalking load so ideal for fox etc

absolutely devastating bullet !

Ive used them in .270 and found them very accurate in both factory and home loads. I don't think they do a factory loading for the 30.06 but plenty loading information in the loading manuals. Was wondering which powder others had found to be best with this load. Mind you with all this nonsense about whats available and whats not some good loads will prove worthless as we can't get that specific powder anymore

I did handload some , I think I used benchmark ? found them to be very accurate in my 1-12 barrel , changed to a 1-10 now and they still shoot very well but not quite as well !

They should shoot well out of the 30.06 too I would think. Gives me a good excuse to spend a while developing a load and testing on the range :)

Loaded them with TAC in my 308. N140 should work in a 30-06.
They seriously moved and were very accurate. As to results well made a bunny jump over a hedge and a fox fold in half.

They sound like ideal heads for the job. I would imagine the difference in real terms between the 308 and 30.06 wouldn't be massive as both are more than capable calibers. Should be ideal for foxing in the windy conditions we always seem to have in the highlands too. I will give the N140 a go as Ive used N130 in my .223 with excellent results. As far as Im aware the N130, 140 powders are not on the reach list and will remain available.

I’ve used 110gr V-Max bullets ;) in my .308 and 300BLK with devastating terminal effect. Even at the relatively pedestrian velocities of the Blackout, with 19gr of Lil’Gun at c. 2400fps, it will stop anything in it’s tracks.

Ive used the 110 V-maxs in .270 for years and always found them to be incredibly accurate and as you say devastating effect and by the sounds of it they are going to be the same in the 30.06. Have you tried the Nosler varmageddon in 110 gr ?..cheaper than the V-maxs .
