17 Hornet ammunition gas leakage

Hi,

I've recently got back into shooting 17 Hornet, after gas leakage on older batches of Hornady ammunition eroded my bolt face on a previous rifle, I got rid. Anyway, bought another rifle when I heard that this gas leak issue was no more. The last but one batch of Hornady 17 Hornet ammunition I bought had no such problems, the cases looked better made, with silver coloured primers, these were Lot # 3152818.

However today I bought another 100 rounds, after awaiting a new shipment, these had an older Lot number 3150443, the brass looks tarnished and these are brass primers, looking identical to the problematic rounds of a few years ago, so I'm wary of using them at all considering my past experiences.

The shop wont take them back and refuses to believe that I'm telling the truth regarding the tarnished round.

Anyone had any problems with Lot 3150443? Dare not use until I get the OK.

Just a brief update for any other 17 Hornet shooters who might be interested. Hornady say that this is a 2015 batch and should be fine, however I wont take their word for it, I'll decap one and measure the primer pocket. A close up picture of the primers doesn't bode well. Check out the gap down the side of the primer.

A friend of mine bought a batch of old stock Hornady 20g v max, and the primers started to blow out so he won't use them now,
Ive just bought a 17 and so far no problems, but I think mine have siver primers, i'll have a look tonight.

Definately untidy looking as far as I can make out from the pic
