Steve Beaty has a S/H mod for £60 so there's more money for rifle and mounts, I'm sure there's plenty of mod's out there for less than £250.
Steve is on my to visit list. Hoping to have a try of the Howa 1500 he says will only hit a tennis ball to see how poor it really is, and pair it up with a 2nd hand stallon mod he has.

If you can consistently knock a tennis ball off a fence post at 100 - 150yds then it's a perfectly good stalking rifle.

Husqvarna had an advertise in the 60s-70s, they promised all shot within a box for tobacco/snus about the same size as a tennisball, of cause with modern optics the old Huskys shoot as well as modern rifles.
