Those that over look the 20 calibre don't realise what they are missingI have a super accurate match .223 which is v heavy. My .204 is just clinical and surgical accurate and I cannot do it justice. If it was deer legal in England then it would be a dream come true. Just remember the 22 Hornet was considered to be the perfect woodland roe calibre pre deer act changes. Richard Prior praised it's virtues.
Long live 20 calibre.

Heres the group size for the sceptics amongst us.Those that over look the 20 calibre don't realise what they are missing
I had a 1:8 twiat rate 223 24" barrel, a souless beast, never liked it hence the 204 that I cant see me parting with. Theres satisfaction to be outahooting the big boys with whats deemed to be a lesswr calibre. The 204 v 223 discussion will always be splitting hairs IMO.
Granted the .223 has more scope of bullet weights depending on twist but their both great calibres to use.
I would be tempted to get an 1 in 8 twist .223 or .22 Br if I ever moved away from the.204 but I cant see that for the foreseeable as I've been a .204 user since 2010
I e owned two Rugers in 204 , bought both used . The first was a 77VT with the grey stainless and laminated bench style stock HB of course . That thing literally would drive tacks 1/4 MOA for five shots got boring . Going for 1/10 MOA was far more intresting . The one big drawback was handloading , the projectiles are quite small for large fingers . The second 204 I had was in a #1B it shot fine for groundhogs and that type of thing but had no where near the accuracy of the 77VT but still big fingers with small projectiles when reloading was a hinderance .Have a slot for a 204 , looking around there doesn't appear to be many 204 manufacturers anymore, have seen some Ruger american gen 2 , has anyone got one of these ? Are they any good, and what is the trigger like , or am I better looking at having a rebarrel 204 , would be used for night time foxing cheers

204 is a hunter barrelNice rifles mate, varmint barrels ?
39gr Bk, 3600fps N133 Remington brassWhat ammo do you use mate ?
Do you reload for the 204 mate ? If you do how easy a round is it to reloadHave both Tikka t3 SV in 204 and a Remmy 700 in 223......remmy is 1 in 8 and shoots 55-75gn absolutely sweet as, but i have put the time into the loads. the 204 dont mind 32`s but prefers 39`s, never did try 40`s.
Both these rifles shoot well under moa at 100yds and beyond, now would i or do i prefer one over the other.??? Lets put it this way if the mrs was stood with one in each hand and asked my which one im choosing to leave the house forever, im afraid her bags would be packed and both rifles would be staying in the box....i can do without her. 204 wears digital day/night vision and 223 a sightron. great kit.
I likey vartarg. Making brass to fit is time consuming though. After buying a second hand sako75 20vartarg. My other 20cal rifle - sako75 204ruger hasn't been out much. But its deadly accurate and a keeper.
Another question for you pal, how do you find the vt for feeding? I'm in a tikka action and have tried to make it feed with different spring rates etc and backing plates in the magazine but can't get it reliable. Have you had any luck?204 is a hunter barrel
20vartarg is a varmint barrel
Hi mate, it feeds spot on. I only ever load 3 rounds in the magazine. That goes for all of my sako rifles. It's a dream to shoot and not Abit if recoil. 18grain of n130 powder 39sbkAnother question for you pal, how do you find the vt for feeding?
