22-250 Seating Depth practical

Hi fellow SD shooters,

This may (or may not) be of interest, but I thought to share my findings. Having already found a decent charge of N140, I finally managed to conduct some seating depth work up, dropping the 50gr VMAX in 10 thou for each separate set of 3 rounds. Picture below shows the results, I fired the deepest set to the shallowest in the order 6-1 (1 is on a separate sheet).

Conclusion: seating depth makes a difference for sure, I will load to set 2, node might be quite narrow so will keep an eye over time but there is some flex and good enough for humane fox work.

Have you had these over a chrno? I'm using 36grn under a 50grn vmax and there running about 3600fps.

Not as such, the 50grn SP are doing 3440 at the muzzle. I recon the VMAX will be in that region, my next task is to chrono them, granted I could of done that while depth testing but didn’t want to mix it up.
