Best results I’ve had with my 20” T3X are with Norma 50gr Vmax, not cheap though but I got mine at sale price. After that, Hornady varmint express in either 50 or 55 work well.
I also tried some Federal 40gr Vmax and they were also very accurate.
Factor in the resale value of the Norma brass and it makes them a bit cheaper, or like me, keep them to reload.

They were deadly in my .22.250 while I had it,a friend still using .22.250 with the Sako and getting great results on foxes and Sika

i was originally using hornandy varmint express and found it a great load. i stupidly switched to ppu looking for cheaper load with same accuracy after initial loads were consistent but then looks like an iffy batch gave variable results in the field and on target. now back to hornandy.

Don't suppose your mate is using non lead and it's a 1 in 14 twist by anychance? Contemplating getting one for roe but trying to find anyone that's used a 1 in 14 twist barrel to reassure me the copper will stabilise with 50/55gr rounds
I've just loaded some hornady ecx 50grain. I've yet to test them, got in lamb ewes where I do my testing. I'm hoping I can get them to group. A mate said they perform well in his larger calibers.

Mine will only shoot remington 55gn psp, ive spent a lit of money testing ammo with it, its obviously female it wont group with anything other than said ammo, reload i hear you say, yep tried that but it still wont play, anyway the said ammo was £19 a box so no trauma there then it went up to £46 a box ☹, its come down a bit to £42 but its simmering in the gun cabinet till it comes down a bit more, ile just use sumat else for a bit .

My local gunsmith had bought a load of Remington 55gr PSP but the guy he had ordered them for sadly passed away. To get rid of them he offered them to me for £10 a box, so my son and I both took as many as we could legally hold.
They won't group for s**t, they strike about 3" low at 140yds and the stench of sulphur is awful. I had intended to use them on the crows but I'm not sure I'll hit a crow sized thingy with them.
I am now thinking about pulling the bullets out with pliers and at least recovering the brass, primers and powder.

I think that they're too long to stabilise in 1:14 barrels. 50gr Barnes TTSX with the plastic tips removed work very well though.
Thanks. They have a blunt poly tip to them. Was hoping this might tip the balance. They don't look any different to the 55g vmax I normally use. Would the tsx work instead of pulling the tips on the ttsx?

I use Norma Oryx 55 gr for all my shooting. Bullet is bonded and retains some 90 % of its lead and goes through what is shot at. In this way it's ok for me to both take out foxes as varmint and roe for dinner. Zeroed at 100 m plus 2 cm up. Right on out to 200 m. Remington custom rangemaster 26' and 1:14.
