222 load

Hi,
Been trying to settle on a fox load for triple 2 for ages.
Think these are the best I’m going to get considering I’m old and my gun is a break barrel.
These from Sunday when I took a Zulus off one rifle and fitted it to another.
52 grain Sierra HPBT x 19 grains Vhit N120.
First 3 shots pretty near the 1.2 high poi wanted at 100 yards, without bore sighting.
Second picture 3shots after adjusting Zulus.
Third picture is 3 shots with 40 grain Sierra HP x 20.4 grains Vhit N120.
55 grain Sierra HP group just as good.
Cheers, Ken.
Ps. I really wanted to stick with Berger FBT x 52 grain bullets but availability is quite erratic.

Looks good. 50gr VMAX work well in my .222 so you could try some of those too?

50gr V-Max for me. Accurate and very, very, deadly. I have sent it out with a variety of different powders, and they have all worked very well. Speed around the 3200 fps mark. Its a winner !

50gr vmax for me too. It wouldn't shoot the factory vmax inside 2 inch so I almost didn't bother trying, ragged holes with reloads if I get myself in gear.

Sorry Ken - daft question and I have probably misread your post - have you zeroed the Zulus 1.2inches high at 100?

Those look lovely groups for a break-barrel: I had a 12b/222 combi and would have dreamed of groups like that.
19 grains of N120 works for me: the benefits of a heavier charge are miniscule

Yes, 1.2” high at 100 = zero at 50 and a theoretical 2.6” low at 225 yards. I won’t be shooting at that range.
Not that it matters as the Zulus works that out.
Cheers, Ken.
Ps. I’ve moved the reticle up 2 clicks since shooting as that target is just over 1.2” high.
I think, with the Zulus 7 pixels/ clicks = 1 moa.
