I am looking for deer managers who have shot roe deer mainly with .223 copper and found a decent cartridge. We are going to try and meet the high standards of the industry in scotland any help and contacts for suppliers.

Not full cartridges but using the Peregrine 51gn bullet with very good effect in 223. I am using them in a 1 in 12” Twist barrel. They drop the biggest bucks on the spot and not a lot of meat damage. I have also used Fox bullets in 243 (80gn) and 7mm (130 and145gn) and would have no hesitation in using them in 223.

Drop @Edinburgh Rifles a line as they do factory ammo with these bullets.

A few friends use Barnes in 223 for roe

Homeloaded with some rifles being rebarreled to fast twist to suit.

Works really well but in truth some more grunt isn’t the worst.

22-250 or 243

I have used 50 grain Barns tTSX and hornady Ecx in my .223 on CWD, Muntjac . The thing is that the window of decent explanation is not really enough and i now like to be under 100 yards.
I am a big fan of copper using my "All deer Legal " Rifles ( I am very ,very ok with tTSX 100 grain ) Even at extended ranges . But am steady away swinging back to Nosler Partition 60 grain lead with the .223 . That soft lead front and a back end that wont fragment to nothing has to be a better plan ?

I posted my load work up and pictures of terminal effect on Roe of the 51gn Peregrine a few years ago. Its on the last page of the thread.

I have continued using this load and its now accounted for several deer.
