Hi I am a novice re loader under supervision of an adult! I have recently loaded 55g vmax up to 23.5 g of N133
(in 3 steps) it's accurate but 2 out of 10 primers (CCI) had slight craters no other signs so I'm happy with that once fired full length sized Winchester brass.
However I am struggling to find OAL and load data for 55g sierra game kings Spbt for N133. I also have N140 but I understand that it's not suitable . I use it for 308. Any advice or loads would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I load for my Rem 700 .223 in 1/12 twist with 55gn and N133 , funny enough 23.5 seems to be my sweet spot for both 55gn Sierra BK and Sierra GK at OAL 2.235 but yours could be different , this is a good couple of vids on the GK

Here's a link to older Sierra 223 Rems load pages with its pressure gun data for N133 and the range of 55s. (More recent Sierra manuals have dropped most Viht entries.) Note Sierra uses Federal cases, a make which as a rule is heavier and has lower capacity than your Winchesters and whose use will increase pressures slightly. (There is a lot of variation between different makes of 223/5.56 case. Be careful if you change make in the future, and if so drop your charges slightly and work back up again.)

You can try N140 with the 55gn Sierra SBT. It's just suitable and Viht gives loads for all the 55s it has tested bar the copper Fox model.

It's a tad slow burning for 55s really coming into contention with 68s and heavier bullets. N133 is better suited to the internal ballistics task with 55gn bullets, so stick with it if you can. N140 top charges are often compressed too with this bullet weight, requiring a slow pour, better still a funnel with a longer drop tube to settle the kernels and drop the top of the powder column to the bottom of the case-neck.
