.22lr zero distance for subs

anywhere between 50 to 60 yards. great fun plinking with the 22lr cheap and fairly silent on the ears

Standard velocity subs are around 1060 - 1070 fps.

With the normal BC of 1.2 for solids and 1.1 for HPs, the ballistic profile lends itself perfectly to a milrad reticle.

Give or take 0.1 mil here or there…

60m = zero
70m = 0.5 mil
80m = 1.0 mil
90m = 1.5 mil
100m = 2.0 mil

Easy as.
Yarp 😀👍

What distance do you intend to shoot at?
This and what are you intending to shoot at?

Squirrels in the woods then maybe 30m, rabbits in an open field probably 60m but I dial in or adjust turrets depending on where I am and what I'm shooting.

If you're old fashioned and just want point and shoot at a certain sized object then set your zero to maximise your PBR.

Being a practical shooter I zero at 25m then note the round strike at 50m, 60m and 70m as pegged out on my range.
Holding over where necessary, the correct amount very soon becomes second nature.
25m is very handy for shooting tree rats in the garden.

Indeed. Mount the scope as low as possible, as it flattens the trajectory.
of course it does not flatten trajectory , low mounts generally minimise the offset at shorter ranges though . High mounts mean it can be tough to hit small targets at shorter ranges , however when you get further out the high mounts actually help with the offset better .
Years ago in field target there was no short range targets , so there was an advantage in the longer shots . Mostly to stop this practice the 8 yard reduced target and it became obsolete
The best course of action in stalking is to get your eye at the correct alignment for your eye , without craning up or squashing your face too low imho , gun fit trumps all in the hunting field . Sometimes though there is the need to do weird posture through a scope ( as is the case in the laid back stance ) This is the best for shooting downwards down a steep slope .

A veey high intermediate Grange impact, I assume.
I zeroed it at the range. 100m was fun with the sub sonic hunting rounds.

Yes you need hold under. To be honest I'm still working out the sfp scope and the right use of the reticle. Could be zero at 50 but I like 100 at the range.
