I have finally ran out of my holden powders and having to work up new loads. I inherited an amount of vita vouri powders Vit N140,150,160 also have 550 555.
Can anyone suggest which of these would be best I was thinking 140 but can't find load data to suit Noslwer 95 gr Ballistic tip. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Regards John

I use N550 for 95 SST, 40.5gr is giving me 2,998fps out of a 20" Tikka

Obviously work up, but either N550 or N160 for heavier bullets.

I use N140 for 58gr and 75gr

24 inch Sheelan barrel shoots a dream with 95 gr and happy with the nosler BTs . I will load some N550 and work up from38.5 will stick it through the Chrono like you I will be looking for around the 3000fps. Thanks for your help I don't find vitavouri load data much help......John

I found the same thing when developing the load, ended up using Gordon's reloading tool, it's not perfect but gives me a good starting point

I changed computer and went apple and can't get quick load to work on it I'm going to get my old laptop sorted just to run great programme and over years saved me a few bob and hours of testing TNX again

I use N140 for the 80gr BT. I've just run the N150 for the 95gr BT through PMax and it'll be OK. N160 is workable but not ideal in a 20" barrel as its only burning 95% of the powder.

Vihtavouri have a free app to shows all calibres and quite a lot of bullet combos. Whilst it wont be perfect for everything it will give you a decent set of parameters to work with.

Definitely not n140! N160 or N550!

Vihtavouri publish a lot of load data on their website. I always find the load data / reloading tool hard to navigate.

Much much easier is to go to a particular powder, then load data abd select a cartridge and you get all data for that cartridge. Notvsure if this link takes you to the 243 data.

They do loads for lots of different bullets. If your chosen one is not there you can start with a similar and work up from min load.

I would start here:

Ive looked but did not find any loads for bigger than 80 gun bullets I've also down loaded there app onto my phoned your right loads of info but nothing suitable tnx for the info

Just use an alternative brand bullet that is same weight as the one you intend to use.

Lots of food for thought in this thread.
