243 case length

Hi chaps, anyone who reloads a 243. ?? Has anyone tried trimming cases to a longer length ie 2.0380/2.0385 instead of standard 2.035??
If so what were the results.

Find it hard to trim longer, but as long as they are are all less than max length and as Muir states all as near as dam it identical length.

In my .243 safe max is 2.037, so when cases reach this length I trim them back to 2.033". DO NOT try to load and fire a round when the case length is making the bolt difficult to close!
In my opinion there is no significance to cases being a few thou shorter than the SAAMI spec of 2.035" - it is not going to make a big difference to accuracy. But if you trim them very short, obviously the case to bullet tension/friction is reduced or you will not be holding the bullet stable which is not a good idea. The important thing is to check case length after re-sizing and when you need to trim again, make them all the same!

Thank you for your info. My cases have been trimmed to + or - .0005"
With full length resizing based on a few tight cases to adjusting the die as recommended by Reeding so that the bolt closes easily.
The Nosler BTips have a very shallow case seat compared to the Hornady
The Noslers give me a far better group than the Hornady on the bench rest. Hence the reason for wanting a longer case.Sub moa to + 1.5 moa @ 100
Any thought?
