.25-06

Don’t let anyone convince you that it is niche. Love mine but I also reload to cover the lack of available ammo variations…… 75g for foxes up to 117 for deer….. she is staying put. When the time comes she will get a barrrel!
What are you using now? Scaffolding pipe? 😂

Great calibre, used one extensively over the years, but rebarreled to 6.5x55 as factory rounds were scarce. God knows what they are like now in non lead. Shame, it’s a really useful chambering, a 243 on steroids, enough poke for any deer and a brutal foxer. I did use 100g TTSX at one point and they were rather good.

Anyone shooting 80gr ttsx in their .25-06? Particularly using N160?

7 months on and I still fancy one. Then I think, stick with the .270 because it does all the same stuff an a lot easier. Even wondered about the 7mm-08.

Probably if it ain’t broke but that’s no fun

Life is short. If you want one and buying it won’t cause you any serious financial pain then go get it. You will always wonder what it could have been! Lol
This! 110%. Since the age of twelve I'd always wanted a Boss. Not a Purdey, not a Holland nor an X, Y or but a Boss. I blame it on reading the poem "The Battle of the Guns".

"No gun but mine is worth a toss’ Thus spoke the valiant Mr Boss".

At age fifty-eight I bought one, scratched the itch, shot a couple of two hundred bird days and decided it killed no better and missed no less often than did my father's old Henry Clarke. So about five years later I sold it.

But as above quoted form NOCTURNALDAVE elsewise you'll always wonder what might have been. I've never regretted selling a gun as much as I've regretted not buying one.
