.260, Overlooked?

I don’t know what there is to “not like” about Creedmoor. Not saying someone has to sell a 260 but why in the world if buying new would you not buy the more supported cheaper to feed version. Also the big thing is the more precise chamber specs. If you like your 260 why not like the 6.5cm if buying a new rifle? Just doesn’t make sense to me. I also like my two Swedes

The 260 is no more to feed than a creed! It can be fed on all the 308 family of cartridges ( so likely more simple and cheaper to feed ?) one pull in the press , expanding up or necked down.

Why do you own two rifles in the exact same chambering ? That has to be a greater potension problem than one hit size up or down to re-form ?

I've never had a runner always dead on the spot longest shot taken on deer 270m and the od fox longest shot 380m if my memory serves me correctly it was taken across a valley I've the ballistics app all sorted on my phone that gives me instant holdover clicks as far as the winds concerned out to 300 doesn't really matter!

sounds perfect. Once I get my CM setup for the fall I am going to try them out. Once I run through my two boxes of Lapua in the Swedes I’ll roll some for them as well. Only SST loads for Swede I know of is that Superformance ir whatever it’s called. They shot terrible in my 7x57 so I don’t plan to bother with them again.

I meant if you are buying factory. Sure handholding is the same either way. No hate on the 260 there’s just nothing I can see better about it than the CM to give the advantages of the popularity and support it gets.

My first 6.5 was the CZ in x55. I wanted one for 20 years. Mauser action etc. I just like that rifle. But it is heavy and long and wasn’t threaded so I got a Tikka also in same chambering. Two inches shorter and threaded, lighter weight and synthetic stock. And then I just ordered the 6.5 CM another Tikka because it was on special for under $650 and I wanted something to put in a chassis and shoot off a tripod.

My rifle started out as 243win I bought it brand new a sako 85 but when it came time to replace the barrel I decided to re barrel it in 260 rem it's now on its second 6.5 barrel and in a GRS stock I used it at Orion in South Wales a few years ago out to 900m with outstanding results but it was a perfect day not much wind also using the 129SST heading over Bodmin moor shortly taking my 260 & my 284win below it's none standard also Steve Kershaw put this together.

Nice setup. Is that in an Oryx? I’m looking to put my new tikka in the new Gen 3 chassis.

Yes tikka action nightforce NXS scope I use it for deer occasionally off the high ground bit heavy to carry around all day but deadly accurate!
