.270 Mod

Hi all,

Probably a stupid question, but here goes.
ive just bought a Tikka .270 and i was 100% sure my mod on my current .243 was a .30 cal and would be ok as its the same thread.... however on the mod it says both 6.5x55 and .260 not sure if it makes a differences but its a roedale.

i assume it is not safe to use and i should find another mod!

Is that the proffered mark or the calibre size
If it’s a 30 cal you should be ok

i thought it had .30 but its stamped .260

Is you rifle factory threaded?
The size difference between .260" and .277" is tiny I’ve used a 6.5 mod design for .243 it was fine.
I’d star by measuring the diameter of the exit hole of your mod.
If any doubts don’t use it for your.270

a 6.5mm/260 mod will be fine for a 270.
