I have a .280 rem and a .284 win, both very similar, gears easier to get for the 284 but I do like the 280 more - both drop deer with authority

I have a 280Aai built of a Sako action and in a form stock.

Hell of a calibre and does more than I can.

There is plenty of 284 brass in dealers shops if you call around

The brass I have is down for my own rifles - I have both 284 Shehane and 284 win that need feeding

If only we could find some RS60, eh?

Ah, I like it with the 139gr Hornady GMX. Should be doing about 3,100 fps out of my 26" barrelled 7x64. Also like RS60 for 120gr Speer SPBT and 100gr E-Tip out of the 257 Roberts.

I’ve owned three 280’s . The first was a Ruger 77R tang safety gun I bought when I was 16 or 17 . The second was a Kimber 89BGR Super Grade , I killed a pile of deer with that rifle . Then relatively recently I had a Ruger #1B that was roll stamped 280/7mm Exp REM , I killed several deer with it as well but it just didn’t handle as well as that Kimber .
