Id also be going for the cartridge that is most available. For decades in the UK (and still is for me) thats .308.

In Norway its probably 6.5x55 but theres nothing wrong with 30.06 if you like long actions.

They will all handle your intended quarry - with ease, personally I would go for the 6.5x55SE - you can load very heavy bullets for calibre if required and I imagine in your part of the world it will be freely available. If the ferries ever get started again that's what I will be taking to Scotland for Roe, Fallow and Reds all of which it and 130 gns Sierra Gamechangers handle with authority.
