.300 Norma Mag action

I am partial to a Borden action. The Timberline would serve you well as a Deer rifle. They also offer a couple of other actions too. My Timberline came from PRS in Scotland.

Thanks for the info, I’ll give them a call and see what they have that’ll be suitable.

You won’t find a Borden with Norma Mag bolt face — the largest is the Denali I think with Lap Mag bolt face

You need to be looking at single shot actions or a used TRG42

Hi. Thanks for that, i was not aware that the Norma was not a std magnum bolt face.

Apologies to OP for my incorrect info'.

Thank you all for your responses and no need for apologies, we are always learning. The Norma is a .585” bolt face but I need to make sure there is enough clearance in the action too.

Hi Ronin.
Would the Borden Bigfoot meet the requirements of the Norma Magnum? PRS do not list one as stock but i am guessing he could source one.

The Bigfoot - from Borden Accuracy spec is the only hunting action listed that will accept Lap Mag bolt face (Norma Magnum)

It is a repeater or single shot and accepts CIP length magazine for detach mag or Wyatt’s box mag for those that prefer floorplate sustem

If you speak to Callum and ask he may have one in stock

Barnard model P or the PC action are common for the Norma

If you can find one - they are superb single shot actions

Absolutely brilliant - have one myself which is yet to be completed

But that is for extended range purposes (when I get a minute to myself)

To be honest, it probably would be a pretty decent option if it is for a hunting rifle.
OP is a bit vauge on the intended use.
Long range target/ELR and possibly a bit of hunting but with a reasonably heavy 30” barrelled and a chassis it may be a fair lump to hunt with. I am considering a Cadex action, any thoughts anyone?

I’d have no issues using a Blaser and 300 Norma Mag out to the mile

I’m thinking about doing just that, using a R8 pro with aluminium metalwork and an Akila chassis

I’d like the latest AI in 300 Norma but that is £8000 versus a second hand Norma barrel for £900

Well you obviously have the budget if you are looking at Cadex

You may also want to look at Victrix

Also PGW DTi but that would likely involve a trip to Canada - the Timberwolf action is another fine contender
