3d printed DIY quad sticks

Don't buy an Ender-3. With total respect to the OP, I was looking at the quality of his 3D printing and thinking "he needs a better printer". My previous printer was an Ender 3 - much modified, fettled and tweaked, and capable of good results if you worked hard and prayed to the right gods (e.g. this was printed on it - Mini belt grinder, belt sander, knife sharpener by urban_winter). I bought a Bambu P1S last year and it's so, so much better than the Ender that I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

For anyone else here who has a 3D printer, I'll also note that printing in ABS has been a revelation. It's one of the few filaments that's not hydroscopic. This means that if you're an occasional printer, like me, you don't have to worry about your filament having picked up moisture since you last had a printing session. ABS used to have the reputation of being hard to print with but it just works on the P1S.

@urban a better printer would be nice to have but certainly isn't essential - and wouldn't make my sticks any more functional. They might not be the prettiest but I'm able to print perfectly functional and strong parts with my printer. I've seen what my friend's Bambu X1C can do with very little input and it's impressive.

Perfection is the enemy of progress.

I've been waiting for someone cleverer than me to do something like this. Cost of sticks (for what they are) is a pet hate. Well done.
Hello, I think Tabok with his new idea of a 3 D printed Yoke head on these garden poles is great considering when i made some sticks using a cut off from a bike inner tube going back many years they did not splay central , look forward to any up date on his project

Let's see how this goes:

Hello, Not being picky but i prefer your original idea once you sort out the Yoke shape and size, The bolts make it look very secure , Used with a String Tye to get the sticks splayed so they are at the right level to shoot your rifle from, but bearing in mind i only do ratting now and have little knowledge of Stalking Deer, I have used stick type rifle rests for years and would not be with out them, cheers

New kit hot off the printer with synchronised legs to prevent yokes tilting. Legs open up to 120 Deg included angle so should be suitable for sitting/kneeling shots. Everything feels nice and sturdy. All up weight will be a touch under 1kg.

I'll assemble with sticks tomorrow for a friend to test and add some pics.

Final version stainless fasteners will be black coated to not stand out.

Hello, Well done Takbok 👍 , When you consider the first Sticks made with garden poles and some inner tube rubber bands to make the Yoke many years ago to what you have made with 3 D printing look forward to see the full set up , These 3 D printers seem a revolution, Many years ago i made a Door rifle rest from Aluminium as i could not find anything suitable to buy which is now used by a chap with limited ability so he shoots from his Landrover , May be another idea with 3 D printing

Thank you. I'm printing a set now for @Tim.243 with a wider V front yoke which you might like
