410's and geese.

Hi,
If I’m lucky I get 2 or 3 long half days on pigeons and crows each year. (240 mile round trip.)
Been using 20 gauge M12 forever but now going to get a .410 for next year.
Recommendations (From experience please) ) for choke and shot size for decoyed birds on standing corn and stubble.
Thx; Ken.

To whet your appetite, the Gunshop at Barbury Shooting ground has a Winchester lever action .410 on s.2 so three shot for sale - only 2.5” chambers though. A sweet little number!

To answer your question I use no.6 shot from 3” shells on full choke. If I hit them, it kills with authority. If I hit them…

Yes, I had a Marlin back about 20 years ago but couldn’t get on with it.
When I came to sell it I seem to remember prices for those had advanced a lot.
Thanks for suggestion. 🙂
Ken.
