6.5 Creedmoor banned on MOD ranges

Was at Otterburn with the cadets recently
ranges are cleared for .338LM and .50cal but 6.5 (any variant) is not currently allowed - make of that what you will
Military rules are diffrent to civi thats why.

Military are deemed more responsible. I can see why in a sense as the ranges are alot more controlled plus theres the fact that people shoot to a tested standard so are deemed competent.

Doubt it. They cant fire it on most of their ranges with even the training ammo for the same reason we can use 6.5 😂
??? Come again?

Over here in the US, I can shoot 22-250 at paper targets at the two ranges that I belong to in Minnesota.

This is with the factory Hornady Superperformance 50g ammo going at 4145fps (~90°F).

Below is a pic of a personal range, but I include it for my chrono.

Or are you taking about energy on target or something? Or maybe you are just joking…

Im taking about your militarys new weapon system in 6.8x51mm and its specific use on military ranges that are limited to the use of 7.62 ammunition.

It's just a case of finding its feet and understanding its capabilities same as 6.5cm on MOD ranges over here.

Im sure it will work its self out.

Can fire whatever you like on your own civi range for obvious reasons

Ah, I see. Understood.

Btw, I heartily recommend getting a 22-250 barrel for your switch-barrel Accuracy International. Feeds well out of the AW mag (around 7-9 rounds possible).

Glorious for the varminteer in me.

Bisley never banned it. It’s a civilian range complex and therefore does not have to comply with MOD or DE&S oddities. The NRA have sent emails about the use of 6.5 calibres on MOD ranges but never banned it at Bisley
Agreed,
I’ve shot my 6.5 CM on about 6/7 occasions this Summer.
