hi all

after a long winded wait my reloading kit will at last be here next week , im going to be loading 140 gn nosler partition with 48 gn of H1000 and cci primers (struggling to get remmington 9 1/2 primers in norfolk ).

im just wondering what loaders of 6.5x55 col are as a rough guide ! i know every bullet and rifle is different so im expecting different figures . the nosler reloading guide 6 is stating a col of 3.150 which compared to feceral factory ammo im presently using is considerably longer .

any help on this would be grand :-D

cheers lee

This is the Max COL for the 6.5x55

The reloading manual I have states
140 Gr bullet
H1000
start 46.5 gr velocity 2423 fps
max 51.5 gr velocity 2651 fps

Min OAL 3.030 for H1000 (this will vary with the same grain bullets and different powders)

So as long as you dont go below 3.030 or above 3.150 you should be ok
depending on your rifles distance to the lands

I have some 140Gr looked at loading them and most people seem to get good results with Reloader 22 not had a chance to try it yet.

In my 6.5x55 I use

129Gr SST min COL 2.935
44.5 Gr H4350
Rem 9 1/2 primer
Lapua brass
COL 3.100
Ogive 2.500

This is safe for MY rifle!! I take no responsibility for the use of these loads in your rifle

This is the link to the Hodgdon reloading directory, worth a look if you haven't already

I have just developed a load for my 6.5x55 using 140gn Remington core lokt bullets.
Recipe is:
140gn Remington Corelokt bullet
41gn H4350
Rem 9 1/2 primer
Federal brass trimmed to 2.150"
Col 3.085" ( Lee second edition list 3.030 min oal for this load).

This load gave a three round group of 0.180" at 100yds in my gun (Sauer 202)
I don't yet know the velocity as I don't have a chrony yet.

This load may not be safe in your Gun!
