Most of us would echo ChesterP: buy a nice inexpensive new rifle like a Tikka or CZ, or a nice used Sako or Sauer. If you were a new driver, it would be foolish to run out and buy a Jaguar or Mercedes 500 or Porsche Carrera, without enough driving experience to really know how to drive them, the differences and nuances, and what really suits you. It is the same with rifles and shotguns, and scopes, and clothing. Save money on the first purchase, spend it on ammunition, practice, meeting experienced hunters, and on some hunting trips. Five years from now, you will know what kind of hunting you like, and what rifle is best for that and for you doing that.
