so is it 7wsm or7 wssm or have i got it rong foot pounds was the same as my 243at point blank the 7wsm or wssm at 1000yards or can eney one recomend a gun that can shoot 800yards and do the job dont want a 308 so thats out i have 2000 to spend on the gun and 1500for scope and yes this may not be every ones idea off stalking roe deer but its what i want to do shoot long distances with the right gun for the job as im not normaly in to big guns im looking for good advice on the bigger guns has to be below 338lapu

I think your missing around 900ftlbs if you think the 7mm wsm has the same ME as the 243! Go with a 6.5x284, good all rounder and an excellant Deer cal.

Thanks - I still cannot use the PC anyway near as much as I would like but do try to spend a little time on line each day but mostly to catch up with emails etc.
But do look at the forums once in a while.

Heard of target guys in germany necking up 243 wssm's, up to 30 cal, seem to be happy with the results.
