hi,can anyone help me? I have a 7mm08 zeroed @ 100 yards using a 140 gn remington round its spot on at this distance but how much will it drop at 200yds at 250yds and if shooting downhill or uphill what compensation should I make? cheers ken

You can go to the Remington site and get their listed velocity and plug it into a free, on-line ballistics program. Remington might have the drops right on the site. The problem is that what you get for velocity from your rifle may not be the same as Remington's or anyone else's using the same ammo. You're going to need to do some personal leg work on this one. As to the uphill/down hill compensation, there have been volumes written on it. Figure out the first part, then tackle the second. Lots of On Line sources.~Muir

As Muir said, you need to shoot your rifle and your loads at 100 to 300 yards, to become accustomed to it.

If you are shooting at 250 yards, you should be setting the zero for 200 yards, which is 1.5 inches to 2.0 inches high at 100 yards, depending on the bullet and MV. I hunt in the mountains and sometimes shoot at angles of 45 degrees, up or down. 250 yards at those angles is about like shooting at 200 yards on the level, so there is no figuring, just shooting.
