8 Bore Remmington Slug

I have some 8 bore Remmington industrial slug. I am interested in test firing them but am concerned about pressure.

The internet suggests they are loaded to 30k psi, way above normal 8 bore pressure. That makes sense looking at the 'gun' they are fired out of, looks more like a cannon.

Can anyone advise?

Yes it’s for an industrial canon, not a shotgun

Will they even chamber in an 8ga shotgun? Most industrial carts have a wider but down by the head that needs to be sized down for using the cases in a shotgun

I used to reload for a double 8 I owned. Correct that the bases are large and needed multiple passes to resize. Seemed to be harder brass than normal cartridges and a bugger to reduce.

I bought a large quantity of industrial cases off a chap who told me that they were used inside cooling towers to knock the clinker off the walls inside.
No idea if true or he was pulling my leg

These were made for cement factory kiln cleaning, to best of my knowledge.

My dad bought some empty remington 10b cases for reloading, they were from industrial use
