Good afternoon to you all, ive been after one of these for a while. Hopefully got that sorted now. THANKS to a member on here.
The reason for this post is to find out if anyone in the TVP firearms licencing area has been granted to use it in the UK.
My stipulation at the moment are for hunting abroad only. If I can support my request to use it for deerstalking here in the UK, with another person's permission it will all help.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Based on Guidance:

AOLQ conditions do not require re-demonstrating good reason if good reason for possession has already been accepted (i.e. target shooting).

AOLQ doesn’t compel you to hunt — it simply permits flexibility, which is consistent with national guidance.

> Home Office Guidance, Ch. 10.13:
“There is no requirement to establish ‘good reason’ for additional conditions... Firearms should be conditioned to provide flexibility with quarry shooting by allowing all lawful quarry.”

> Ch. 12.9:
“Once initial ‘good reason’ has been established for the possession of a firearm, there is no requirement for ‘good reason’ to be demonstrated for additional quarry species…”

It is perfectly reasonable to have larger calibres/chamberings open for use in the UK, but it will be an issue unless you have an "open certificate", because it's unlikely that land will have been cleared for them.

"Hand loading" your ammunition, the need to zero, test, and practice, particularly given the game you'll be hunting, such as wild boar, are potentially dangerous, particularly if injured, is a very good reason to have it open !!!!

I know a lot of people with 9.3's. 62's, & 74's, including myself, all of whom have open certificates, with all of their rifles conditioned for UK use.

Knowing the reputation of TVP, or at least one of the FEO's, it would be worth speaking to someone like BASC if you're a member, and asking their advice !!!

Hi Lateral,
My ticket has been open for a long time.
We have had such a high turnover of officers, that it difficult to build a relationship on.
I will mention the dangerous game and need to practice, seems a very real reason if ever their was one. Thanks for the input.
Regards.

I have a 35 Whelen on an open ticket conditioned for deer and AOLQ from Wiltshire. My justification was shooting large lowland red deer in thick woodland where runners could potentially suffer due to becoming difficult to find or get to because of how steep, thickly forested and muddy the terrain is, and also for boar. If you shoot in Devon or somewhere with similar terrain and large red deer the same argument would apply.

The 35 Whelen is a .358" calibre or 9.1mm so very similar to a 9.3.

I'm from.staffs and had a 9.3x62 that was initially restricted on approval to use abroad only and I could only buy 20 rounds..After a discussion with FEO it was altered to AOLQ and ammunition increased to 100.. I think allot depends on how the conversation goes during the interview as to good reason given.

Very often, if the FEO sees you as a well behaved, rational and respectful individual who knows what they’re talking about, doors open up.
